Hi,
My name is Stephanie Barnes, I’m a twinless twin. My identical twin sister, Suzanne, died May 27, 2019. You can see her obituary here.
Even though Suzanne and I had a difficult relationship, her unexpected death hit me hard and since her death I have worked through many layers of dysfunction and am in a much better place.
As I navigated the bereavement process I noticed there really weren’t very many resources for twinless twins and that people who hadn’t lost a twin had no idea about the depth of the pain and saddness.
I ended up finding my way through it, mostly on my own (or at least that’s how it felt) and have come to a place where I can say that although she’s gone and I miss her, I am grateful for all the things I have learned and emotions I have processed since her death.
Now that I’m here, I would like to help other twinless twins who are struggling to find their way through their grief, so I am “hanging out my shingle” as a Twinless Twin Grief Coach.
I am not a therapist. I am a coach and a mentor, someone to help you navigate these uncharted waters. I use primarily use art therapy techniques and journaling to support you through the mourning process. I am someone who understands what it is to lose your twin–the person who was with you since the moment you were conceived.
There is nothing like the loss of your twin, and I want to help you find your way in the world as a Twinless Twin.
